Bendy Bus Trial a Waste of Taxpayers Money
Bendy buses will not be used on the Isle of Man said Graham Gregeen the Muppet for Community, Culture and Leisure.
Not because it was a daft idea in the first place but according to Cregeen because the island would have to alter the majority of its roads to make them suitable for the buses and well, that would cost lots of money.
‘The trial period proved that articulated buses present no greater safety concerns for passengers or other road users than any other type of bus. However, resources are not currently available to carry out the necessary work to modernise the island’s road infrastructure for public transport vehicles. Whilst this work is not essential immediately, it would be if articulated buses were to be introduced. The department is continuing to explore alternative options to deliver the level of savings required while still being able to deliver services,’ Mr Cregeen told IOM today.

The majority of the population already knew these buses were totally unsuitable for our roads so why did Mr Cregeen insist on attempting to fit square pegs into round holes and why was he so keen to waste money on the trial, money that he claims his department is so desperate to save?
Will an MHK be asking how much this failed trial cost the taxpayers and will Mr Bell finally say enough is enough and kick this fella out of office?…
